On behalf of all Texans, I apologize for all the talking during your Austin show.
It’s true. Typically, until the drugs kick in, the crowd here just talks amongst themselves. Usually, a kick-ass first number would get a huge round of applause. Really — it’s nothing personal. It happens every time.
I truly thank you for leveling the place with one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It really brought the crowd around. Like you said, and I paraphrase, “There you are!!! You guys walked in here like you didn’t know who we were.” Indeed, it did take about four songs to get ‘em going. Fantastic job.
You heard right. The crowd did boo when you didn’t come out for an encore. They felt robbed — naturally; because they missed the first four songs.
Don’t let this sway you from coming around again. Texans are usually pretty cool.
